The EL (Electroluminescent) Wire
has arrived! This is going in between the panels and the corset to light up the "Police Call Box" and Windows. We're working on how to diffuse it as the purchased is a thin light up wire.
We're still working out the wiring kinks (like where to put the battery pack and on/off switch-current theory is cleavage, wire diffusion), and waiting on some pieces (sound card, yale key) and there is a bit of painting (inside to look like control panel, the phone) left.
Update 8-15-11 Me in the nearly complete TARDIS Corset
Hugh Casey TARDIS Album
This is the body of the TARDIS corset, all finished, laced, and on a mannequin.
This is the TARDIS corset with a very rough test of the placement of the new front panels. The white panel behind the phone box isn't there yet, and the EL wire to make the signs and windows light up should be here soon. I designed the panels, but they were actually done by the brilliant and technically astonishing Avril Korman of Damned Good Design.
The body of the corset before it was boned.
A close up showing a slightly closer-to-real sample of the colour.
The pieces, just cut, waiting to be assembled.
